Rafael Bencosme Death – The Sleepy Hollow community is grieving the profound loss of a beloved educator and dedicated community member, Rafael Bencosme, affectionately known to his students and colleagues as “Mr. B.” Mr. Bencosme, a longtime teacher in the Tarrytown School District, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of learning, kindness, and unwavering support for his hometown.
Mr. Bencosme was a true product of Sleepy Hollow, having graduated from the local school system himself. He returned to his roots to shape the minds of future generations, serving as a cherished teacher in the Tarrytown School District for many years. His dedication to his students was evident, and he was widely regarded as a well-loved figure within the school community. His impact extended far beyond the classroom, as he was known for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Beyond his role as an educator, Mr. Bencosme was a steadfast supporter of the Sleepy Hollow Police Department. The Sleepy Hollow PBA shared a heartfelt message extending their condolences to the Guzman and Bencosme families, as well as the Tarrytown School District.
